Years ago I used to busk in the park on Sundays at Pointe du Moulin in Ile Perrot. We used to work on site and exhibit about a dozen full paintings. Never sold much, but had lots of fun, just being part of the action. The best part was hearing people say waaash (French for “yuck”) when they saw the first part of my painting. Usually too chaotic, messy and undecipherable. My easy answer: come back in 3 hours and you’ll see something like one of these hanging. They often did, because they didn’t believe I could get from this to a full finished painting. In fact, I often don’t believe it either. I just finished it today.

Enjoying your images and thinking about the japanese saying nothing lasts, nothing is finished, nothing is perfect. Says it all about us daily artists.

I find it interesting that people sometimes see the practice of making art as some kind of instant magical realization. Lovely piece.
