Misunderstood: A Nina Simone Tribute

A Montreal native, Nadia Theobal’s passion for music began at as a child in church, providing a spiritual foundation for her professional singing career. She expanded her vocal chops through jazz performance studies at Concordia University and has sung backup with artists such as Gage, Boom Desjardins, Daniel Bélanger and Corneille, among others. Misunderstood marks Nadia’s debut as a solo artist, emerging on the jazz scene with this tribute to the incomparable Nina Simone.

As pianist, music director and co-creator, Pierre Gallant’s recent trilogy of shows (The Road to Hope, The Road to Joy, The Road Home”), performed for audiences on Montreal’s West Island last year, are fast building a following.
